Course Modules
Day 1 – Introduction to B BBEE and General Principles
The course begins with an overview of the B BBEE framework, including key role players, automatic recognitions, and the concept of priority elements and discounting. Delegates are introduced to the principles of building a sustainable B BBEE model, and the BEESMART platform is set up for use throughout the programme.
Day 2 – BEE Fundamentals
This day offers a comprehensive, full day introduction to each scorecard element, giving delegates a strong foundational understanding of how the overall B BBEE Scorecard is structured and measured.
Day 3 – Management Control
Delegates examine Management Control in detail, including occupational level analysis, EAP targets and calculation methods, element specific prerequisites, and verification requirements. The day includes class based activities to apply the concepts in practice.
Day 4 – Skills Development
The focus shifts to Skills Development, where delegates explore the Learning Programme Matrix, understand eligible spend types and their limitations, and review how to leverage tax incentives. Class exercises and verification preparation are included.
Day 5 – Enterprise & Supplier Development, SED, and Y.E.S
This module addresses the requirements and scoring for the Y.E.S initiative, including target calculation and compliance. Delegates review qualifying beneficiaries for ESD and SED and unpack each matrix. Verification and class exercises are incorporated into the session.
Day 6 – Preferential Procurement
Delegates learn how to recognise and validate supplier B BBEE certificates, what constitutes recognised spend, and how to apply TMPS principles and handle imports. Verification requirements are covered, along with applied class activities.
Day 7 – Ownership
This module focuses on B BBEE Ownership structures, with specific attention to flow through and modified flow through principles, as well as the exclusion principle. Delegates complete related exercises and prepare for ownership verification.
Day 8 – Case Study Simulation
Delegates participate in a guided, hands on case study where they upload a full scorecard into the BEESMART system. This group based simulation reinforces learning and applies the software practically.
Day 9 – Strategy Application
Delegates build a complete B BBEE strategy based on the knowledge acquired throughout the course. The session includes workshop time and preparation of a strategic presentation.
Day 10 – Presentations
On the final day, each team presents their strategic B BBEE plan. Presentations are followed by peer feedback and evaluation by facilitators to consolidate learning and application.
